Projecto Útil came into being at the beginning of 2006. Its majority owner and sole managing director, Pedro Múrias, had this dream for several years and started by giving it a name - Projecto Útil [useful project]. The company’s activity was difficult to define due to the fact that its main focus is to serve both companies and individuals. Consultancy was its overall purpose. The company’s logo – a “square paper clip” - created by Pedro together with the architect Pedro da Graça Lopes – suggests the versatility, efficiency and utility of the company in a simple way. A slogan was still needed to link the name and the attitude of the company: “At your service” emphasizes simplicity as our main business principle. Projecto Útil, “at your service” and the logo are registered trademarks in the Portuguese National Institute of Industrial Property as Projecto Útil – Consultoria, Lda. At the time of its inception, there were, apart from Pedro, two other partners involved in Projecto Útil, Sílvio Silva and Tiago Oliveira. Their contribution remains important. The focus on activities based on the above guidelines in partnership with “slmdesign and Aside” and the creation of a new website at the beginning of 2013 mark a step forward in our company’s development. Inspired by the faithfulness typically associated with dogs, we have used the stylized image of a dog to symbolize each line of our business.
The serious economic and financial crisis has had a great impact on our business to date. The challenge for us, however, is to be still more useful than ever, standing side by side with our customers and suppliers. We want to work with people and for people, aware of the fact that serving is the key, not easy profit.
According to an unknown author, “When a leopard dies, it leaves its skin; when a person dies, he leaves his reputation”. We constantly seek excellence by remaining accountable.
